My best friend’s wife deserves a portion of credit for this super-simple smoothie bowl. Several years ago she treated me to a frozen cherry smoothie bowl, which is what inspired me to make my own using a bag of frozen blueberries. It couldn’t be easier to make: just pop all the ingredients in the blender and then top with all manner of goodies to boost the nutritional content. I used fresh blueberries, banana, nutty granola and freeze dried raspberries, but let your imagination run wild! It’s quick, healthy and vegan-friendly. The kids will love it! Add the milk and ice cubes in stages to avoid watering it down too much. A hands-on approach is necessary: Blenders and food processors can be temperamental beasts, so you’ll need to use a spoon at regular intervals to scrape down the sides and get things moving. Chill your bowl first: This helps the smoothie stay cold and thick while you tuck in. Pour in half the oat milk to get it moving and slowly add the rest of the milk. If the mixture is too thick to blend, add a splash of cold water.
