You can make them as healthy (or unhealthy) as you like, but the flavour tends to be richer than a bowl of porridge. They are usually eaten cold, though you can heat them in the microwave if you prefer your oats warm. What Kind Of Oats Are Best For Overnight Oats? Unless you like the idea of your overnight oats resembling a thin soup, avoid using instant oats or quick oats. Rolled oats are your best bet as they are minimally processed, hence they retain more of their texture without turning into mush. What Are Chia Seeds? Chia seeds are the tiny black seeds from the Salvia hispanica plant, which are native to central Mexico. They can be used as an egg replacement in baking, plus they make a great sugar-free jam. Just as important to know is that a handful of chia seeds (25g) contribute almost 9g of fibre and about 25% of your recommended calcium intake. They’re also useful for balancing blood sugar levels and lowering blood pressure. What Are Cacao Nibs? Cacao nibs are unsweetened tiny pieces of crushed cacao seeds. They are crunchy, bitter and rich, so a little goes a long way. Cacao is also thought to be the food with the highest source of magnesium. Where Can I Buy Coffee Extract From? Most supermarkets stock coffee extract in the baking aisle. If you can’t find it, simply replace the same amount of extract for instant coffee, mixed with a little water. How Do I Make Vanilla Late Overnight Oats Dairy Free? Substitute cow’s milk for an alternative like oat, soya, almond or coconut milk. 0 FacebookTwitterPinterestEmail You may also like Bookmark Slow cooked beef chilli tacos Bookmark Dairy free banana bread pancakes Bookmark Black pudding, apple and walnut salad Bookmark Parsnip, carrot and onion bhaji burgers Bookmark Apple Dutch baby Bookmark Goan chicken risotto Bookmark Moroccan lamb stew Bookmark Baked onion bhajis Leave a Comment Cancel Reply Your rating: Save my name, email, and website in this browser for the next time I comment.
